Join French-American collage artist Catherine Cruz for a new comprehensive collage workshop designed to to guide you through the complete process of creating a finished collage on wood panel. Her hands-on process will cover every step—from surface preparation and design to varnishing and wiring.  You will learn presentation tips to give your artwork a professional finish. 

What you’ll obtain from this workshop:

·       Reliable methods for preparing your panel

·       Technical information about selected art materials

·       Creative ways to explore abstraction through collage

·       Techniques for presenting your art

IMPORTANT: Each participant must purchase and bring the following items:

-        One 12”x12 cradled wood panel, gallery style 1 ½” thick

-        One roll of blue painter’s tape 2” wide

-        One small Phillips screw driver (cross-shaped)

Instructions for where to purchase your materials will be provided at registration.

Materials provided by Instructor: a wide assortment of painted and printed collage papers, brushes, acrylic medium, gesso, varnish, wiring supplies, scissors, etc.

The class will begin with a demonstration, so please plan to arrive early to allow time to settle in.

A short lunch break will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 PM. Kindly bring your own lunch and beverage.
